Prenatal Classes Offered at HMC

Expectant parents and their guests are invited to attend

a free series of childbirth classes sponsored by Hancock

Medical Center.

Preparation for the birthing experience, including anesthesia options and stages of labor, will be the focus of classes

February 3, 10 and 17 from 7 until 9 p.m. in the HMC

Business and Education Complex. The classes will repeat

April 7, 14 and 21.

Further instruction focuses on nutrition, physical changes

during pregnancy and preparation for breastfeeding.

Breathing relaxation techniques and alternatives for labor management are also taught. The classes culminate with

a segment on infant care.

Materials pertaining to the topics are distributed at

each class.

Breastfeeding instruction and support is offered for new

mothers who plan to breastfeed. Classes will be February

24 and April 28.
