From Dunbar Ave. to Drinkwater Blvd., what a trip it's been!
National Hospital Week 2010 (May 9-16) marks the 50-year Anniversary for Hancock Medical as the county-owned hospital in Hancock County. Originally Hancock General Hospital, a 30-bed facility, was built on Dunbar Avenue in 1960. In 1987, the hospital moved to a new $11.5 million, 66-bed facility on Drinkwater Boulevard.
The hospital will celebrate by holding its annual National Hospital Week Health Fair at Bay BridgeFest on Saturday, May 15. The community health fair will feature free health screenings, educational materials, giveaways and valuable health resource information for the public.
